The Board of Directors of Pure Matrix, Inc. (www.purematrix.com) today announced that David McGlade will maintain his responsibilities as Chairman, in addition to his appointment as Managing Director of British Telecom’s BT Cellnet. Mr. McGlade, a co-founder of Pure Matrix who has been instrumental in the development of its next-generation Mobile Internet products and services, assumes his new post at BT Cellnet October 1.
Mr. McGlade will be based in London where he will have operational responsibility for BT Cellnet in the UK, one of the world’s largest wireless carriers with more than eight million subscribers.
Prior to founding Pure Matrix earlier this year with other prominent cellular and communications industry veterans, Mr. McGlade was President and CEO of CatchTV, a Silicon Valley web and television convergence company acquired by ACTV. Mr. McGlade also was President of the West Region for Sprint PCS, where he was a member of the core start-up team and played a key role in the most aggressive expansion of wireless communications in the United States.
Earlier in his career, Mr. McGlade managed telephony trials for TCI (now part of AT&T), a leader in the U.S. cable television market; led Cable AdNet, a prime mover in the development of the U.S. spot cable advertising market; and managed innovative satellite-delivered marketing and promotion services at the Lenfest Media Group. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a BA in Communications, and he serves on the Advisory Boards of Swan Systems and Local Square.
